"By 1986, the first computer virus, called Brain, began making its way around the world, and within in a year, the VIRUS-L mailing list began discussing how to stop computer viruses. Early participants included Eugene Kaspersky and John McAfee, who would later lend their names to their antivirus programs, which are still in use today."(Cnet.com)
Isn't that fascinating?

Eureka Comes to an End + Bad News + Good News
After the completion of Eureka's Season 6 the show will draw to a close bringing an end to another amazing show on SYFY. A real shame... The show was damn good...
SYFY and MGM have decided against Stargate Movies of any kind for now.
That is a crying shame.
And Finally the good news.
NOV 15 is the official release date for HALO Anniversary and Saints Row 3.
Prepare for no sleep!

Welcome to the Future!
So we don't have flying cars and food in pill form (vitamins do not count!) there are some incredible innovations that would be laughed at or called impossible only 20 years ago.
Glasses Free 3D: Yep this one was announced at CES this year. SONY showed off their 42in prototype. With several 3D Cellphones and the 3DS following this path as well, this is the true future of 3D! WHY? The main thing holding back people from tru3d is well the glasses. Most people get headaches from the technology and many do not want to spend the extra money on such technology. GF3D has reduced these side effects. So with SONY getting ready to release a TV to beat all TVs. This folks is just a few steps away from a hologram. This is going to be one hell of a ride!
Tablet: Well im a little late on this one. But with the IPad Tablet Devices have become main stream. This really is something right out of Star Trek. Literally, Watch any episode of DS9 or TNG you will see devices that look like a tablet. The big players here are Apple (IOS) and Google (Android). Imagine that!
Well now lets get to the news shall we.
Apple downsizes the IPAD and its price for the IPAD 2, Apple also begins to eliminate the scroll wheel on the Ipod.
Do you like Android OS?
Do you want it on your legacy PC?
Well now you can!
USE Android x86!
A free image available in several flavors for almost all systems. So go to it!
Get Android!
Love it!
and bring that hunk of crap back to life!

Welcome to the New Jungle...
Alright a lot to catch up on.
Microsoft releases phone7
YAY
Android takes 52% stake in mobile market!
Take that Apple.
Blockbuster prepares to shut is physical doors
Borders downsizes
and last but not least
Movie Gallery is bought by Family Video.
Yep some of you may have noticed this one. Now Movie Gallery is gone and Family Video is here.
That just sucks and let me explain why. Family Video has an insanely bad reputation. Most of the time their employees are rude and inexperienced, they also have draconian return policies and have crap for a selection.
Here let me compare them to a local store a few blocks down in Grove City
DAMN-Poor-Fair-Average-Good-Excellent-WOW
Family Video Ron Solo Video(Really that is the stores name)
New Release Selection Fair Good
Gallery(Old) Rentals Poor Excellent
Video Games Good Average
Blue Ray Fair WOW

June No Post + The Second Television Transition
I hope my Post will make up for the lack of one last month ^_^
Anyway...
I spent some time on the phone with a customer service rep from DirecTV. I had a huge battery of questions for him. Mainly about the flier my technology inept parents had received about a free receiver upgrade. I was surprised to find out that the reason that DirecTV sent these fliers out was because they are planning to render all receivers over 5 years old obsolete and DISCONTINUE SERVICE TO THOSE RECEIVERS! In other words all people with receivers from before 2005 will no longer have service.
This unlike the digital transition is not a government ploy. DirecTV is basically doing for satellite what DSL and cable internet did for the Internet in general. Provide better access. All old DirecTV receivers use MPEG2 encoding,Old sloppy and inefficient encoding. All the new boxes use mpeg3 and mpeg4 encoding. An excellent upgrade allows for more programming room and improved quality. This is not including the bolstered features in the new box. Unlike the DTV transition DirecTV Customers will not have to pay a dime. If you have one of the old receivers DirecTV has already sent you a flier that informs you of a free receiver upgrade. Also you can keep your old package if you wish. NO COST! NONE! Go ahead and take the offer.
My parents purchased their DirecTV Receiver in 1995. It has been apart of our living room for 15 years. Now it is being replaced. However that is the nature of technology.
Move Forward
Remember most Satellite providers are preparing for this transition and replacing boxes. So Dish-Network Customers keep your eyes open! You may receive a flier soon!
